POSITION OVERVIEW
First Missionary Baptist Church of Handsboro is seeking a Pastor who is Christ centered, spirit filled, has a zeal for preaching and teaching the Word of God, has effective communication skills, and possess excellent financial and executive leadership skills. The candidate must follow the examples set by Christ. The ideal candidate must also exhibit the skills and knowledge to cultivate the spiritual wellbeing of the church and its members.
SUMMARY
The Congregation of families by the grace of God is praying for a full-time biblically based pastor, preacher, teacher, and visionary leader to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ rightfully dividing the word of truth, to engage in pastoral care ministries, and provide leadership in church life. The ideal candidate will be a leader with sound biblical doctrine as listed in Titus 2 and 1 and Timothy 3:2-7.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Communicating
A pastor-teacher who digests and communicates Biblical Doctrine to all generations
Encourage congregation in personal evangelism and witnessing and spiritual growth for all generations
Have excellent communication and interpersonal relational skills that connects and communicates to all generations
2. Administering
Build relationships and serve as a bridge-builder, within the congregation and community
Be an advocate on behalf of Christ in matters affecting the welfare and mission of the Church and in the world
Be an administrative and visionary leader
Preside over church business meetings
Has acquired skill in listening and communicating, Pastoral care, preaching and worship leading
3. Leading
Demonstrates leadership abilities
Lead and teach members in a weekly Bible Study
Lead in observing the ordinances of the church: Baptism and The Lord’s Supper.
Willing to work with all age groups (especially the youth)
Have pastoral administrative management ability to be able to communicate God’s Word effectively.
Possess ability to develop leadership teams of deacons, trustees, and other ministries.
Be able to handle conflict resolution according to Biblical guidelines in Galatians 6.

The salary and benefits will be negotiated at the time of offer and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. After receipt and review of all forms and required information, all candidates will be notified of the final decision of the search committee and advised of further steps, if applicable.
